Time to say GOOD Bye Project

If given 15 seconds, what would you say to yourself before dying?


The project "Time To Say GOOD Bye" will interview 366 people. Every interviewee represents one specific birth date, metaphoring life cycles repeating throughout a year.  By leveraging software "Tone Transfer" developed by Google Research, each interviewee recorded the last words that they wanted to say to themselves before dying. While recording the last words, the webcam function has been actived, interviewee can watch their mirrored selves to record their facial expressions. 

Some people questioned themselves. 
Some sang a song.
Some tried to comfort themselves to ease anxiety.

Each interviewee represents a point of view, and we are not looking for an answer to the question of ‘’what is death’’ through this project.

Some interviewee said that through participating in this project, they reflected their life so far, and some reconsidered the relationship between life and death. Through "Tone Transfer," language got reformatted into sounds of instruments. Which symbolizes a message from this moment to your future self facing death. When the line between music and words becomes blurred, how do we interpret people's words?

プロジェクト "Time To Say GOOD Bye "では、366人にインタビューを行います。 Google Researchが開発したソフトウェア「Tone Transfer」 を利用して、各インタビュイーは、死ぬ前に自分自身に言いたい最後の言葉を録音しました。最後の言葉を録音している間、ウェブカメラ機能がアクティブになっており、インタビュイーは鏡像の自分を見て表情を記録することができます。

ある人は自問しました。
ある人は歌を歌いました。
不安を和らげるために自分を慰めようとした人もいました。

各インタビュイーが表すのはそれぞれの視点であり、このプロジェクトを通して「死とは何か」という問いへの答えを求めているわけではありません。 インタビュイーの中には、このプロジェクトに参加することで、これまでの自分の人生を振り返った人や、生と死の関係を再考した人がいました。 「Tone Transfer」によって、言葉は楽器の音色に変換されています。それは、今この瞬間から、死に直面する未来の自分へのメッセージを象徴しています。音楽と言葉の境界線が曖昧になったとき、人々の言葉をどう解釈するのでしょうか？
